New Club in Town

So I am here to meet some friends at Cynna bar, a newly opened club beside Loft which is owned by the same owner of Loft. It's just that you must have reservation to get in, eventhough you're rich enough to afford everything inside, you still have to make a reservation. When you get in, you sign the book...like you're some kind of VIP and this new place comes with more restrictions compare to all other clubs next door.

So, what's so good about this new club?

Usually you can tell the difference. These clubs are filled with celebrities for the first 6 months after its opening. I've seen celebs like Danielle Graham, Channel V's VJ Amanda, and some artists having fun here. The rules are set to protect them, I guess. If a club allows anyone to get in, soon it would be conquered by a bunch of uncivilized people and these classy crowds will be gone.

This kind of restriction has pro and con. Good thing is, you dun have to worry about people making troubles here. You dun have to worry about raid. People you see are more educated and that's more than enough to make you feel comfortable and enjoy the night.

The bad thing is, this place is always expensive and sometimes you can get really frustrated when some of your friends are not allowed to get in. Arguing with the bouncer isn't fun.

Peeing...

This is a good one for guys (uh, not for girls coz we're standing when we do it.. haha):

"Don't pee against the wind."

Meaning for everything you do, do it wisely. Don't do stupid thing. Don't dig a hole for others and eventually you have to jump in yourself. Same as peeing against the wind.

I mean what I meant. If you get what I mean.

The Giants

My high schoolmates!

From the left: 5'11", 6'3", 6'2"

There were about 10 giants in my class and I was the shortest among the giants. With this particular reason, I never had a chance to play the center position in a basketball game because all these giants took the place. At one time, we were the all-time champion in the inter-class basketball tournament. It's an old story now.

Bossy Talk...

This is what my new boss just said, "I don't allow mistakes. Mistake can only be made once. If you make the same mistake twice, that means you never take the first mistake to heart."

This sounds reasonable.

But then, here comes another one, "When you have a tough boss, you will grow faster and learn faster!"

Urrrr, the second one sounds a little...demanding. If this is something coming out from your boss' mouth, what would you think?

He also said: Dun dig. Meaning don't dig a hole to trap him. Eventually you would be the one who jump into the hole you dig for yourself.

So, DON'T DIG~~!

Hell, tough life is ahead of me.

A Surprising Return

Nic: Oooi, I got something to give you tonite.
Me: What thing?
Nic: Something lah.
Me: Good thing or bad thing?
Nic: A gift lah.
Me: Oh, thank you first. So, see ya in the evening.

In the evening, I browsed thru Cat's blog. She had not updated her blog but kept asking me to update mine. I just left a comment on her blog, asking when she'll be back. Minutes later, Nic called.

I walked to Nic's car. She winded down the window when I stood beside her car. I saw someone hiding on the passenger seat. And then this somebody suddenly popped up and shouted, 'SURPRISE~!' I was stoned for a second. Who the hell was that? I thought it was a guy. When I looked closely, it was Cat!

It was supposed to be a surprise, but my central nervous system was a little bit slow. My facial response didn't correspond to the surprise. Haha. But I'm glad to see you back. Welcome home, Cat! It was a surprise!

A cig a day, keep the stress away

Nancy saw my avatar on MSN.

Nentze: So what's the baby photo about?
Me: Stressful, i think. Haha.
Nentze: Hahaha. He looks more stressful than me!! I think i need a cig now.
Me: I need one as well, but damn, nobody in my office is smoking.
Nentze: Me too...even worse...I'm in my dad's office.
Me: Haha...then come look for me. We go s-m-o-k-i-n'
Nentze: Eh eh wan ar? You can come out for a while? Can you just go downstairs have a puff?
Me: You're not kidding, rite?
Nentze: No kidding! I'll leave now la...Call ya when I get there?

-She then disappeared on MSN-

10 minutes later, this girl drove from SS4 to my working place, and she dragged SuZen, who's working in the same building, out from the office too. And then we had a cig downstairs at the lobby but I pulled them to a hidden place. Damn, just got started to work here for only 3 weeks and sneaking around isn't a good idea.

We were then gratified by the stress-releaser. She came all the way just for a cig. Bad smokers!! Haha.. Err, should start to get rid of this bad habit.

Zero bloggin' in Nov

I can't believe that I've left my blog empty in the entire November, and just a blink of eye it's December now. I'm busy and lazy. There are hell loads of things going on and I'm digesting hell loads of information everyday. Yeah, from the new job...It's overloaded sometimes but i think it's good, because this is the way how life moves on.

Ok, I shall stop here. Friend got me ticket for the movie Aeon Flux tonight. Yoohooo..! Here goes my favorite sexy Charlize Theron~ (Oh yah, she's hot!)

P/S: I'll post up some pics taken recently. Not now. Later.

How ya working life looks like?

From childhood on accustomed to the clock,
as Hermann Hesse said, trained to accept
"the state of a forced, breathless strain as the ideal".

We've almost forgotten the intrinsic value of time, of being, of life.
Driven by restlessness, we rush through life
as if there was a compulsory exercise to be completed or a prize to win.
A slave to blind activism, we do not only too much, but do it carelessly.

-- Michael Baeriswyl "Chillout"

That is exactly how I felt in the past 2 years and 10 months of working life for the current company. A slave. Yes, a slave to blind activism and restlessness. I worked without going on a vacation, without getting paid as what I expected, without having directions about what I am supposed to do with my future career.

It wasn't even a life. It was breathless, directionless, restless, and meaningless piece of crap.

But this will be ended in a week more. And I'm glad that I'll be released from the factory.

Good-bye, factory life :)

P/S: A company will always earn loyalty by creating an organizational culture that encourages motivation, energy and innovation. All these will just accommodate employees' needs and positive lifestyles. All these will retain employees when the company is facing a depression of business. And my current company really has to learn why so many employees are quitting this year...

A New Beginning

Haven't gotten enough time to shit on my blog for the past few weeks. There was a sudden change. I've resigned from my current job. Looking forward to the week after Hari Raya.

It will be a whole new beginning.

Meanwhile, life goes on.

Download..

Cafe del Mar Vol.12 has been released. Check it out:

Besides, other recent MP3 list includes:
01. Pirates of the Caribbean Soundtrack
02. Lord of the Rings Trilogy Soundtrack
03. Matrix and Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack
04. Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business
05. Chemical Brothers - Push the Button
06. Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane

Yeah, I know, some of these albums are outdated (as they're released in June or before). But they're still cool. Well, hardly found any album that comes with all the songs that are entirely unskippable. There's always a couple of songs I skip to get to the good stuff.

OK, a little thing to know..

O.K.

Although we use this word hundreds of times a week whether things are OK or not, we have probably rarely wondered about its history. That history is in fact a brief one, the word being first recorded in 1839, though it was no doubt in circulation before then. Much scholarship has been expended on the origins of OK, but Allen Walker Read has conclusively proved that OK is based on a sort of joke. Someone pronounced the phrase "all correct" as "oll (or "orl") correct", and the same person or someone else spelled it "oll korrect", which abbreviated gives us "OK".

My Boss

He's a real workaholic who wants to make the whole team of engineers run after him. He's too energetic. I dunno where the hell he got all the energy from. Sometimes I just doubt that he's not a real human beings, either an alien or a robot emerging in my mind.

I have a presentation for my work every month. It's suffering because i have to put hell loads of time and energy to prepare it. Well, mainly about data analysis and some problem-solution thingy. This time, his turn to be assigned to present a big project to the top management. He consumes a lot of time and energy preparing the report. Now it's his turn to feel my pain in the ass. *Hehe

But a few hours before the presentation this morning, his ultimate energy was like being powered up by taking 10 tablets of vigra. He was so excited about presenting the whole project that he had done to the top management. He kept walking here and there like he had never been this busy before, trying to come out with more ideas and plans to keep his mind running. I think he just can't get rid of the excitement to show off his good work. So, at that point to kill time while waiting for the presentation, he spilled out questions like 'How much data you've gone through?','Why is it abnormal?','When will it be done?'...doubled the frequency of the same questions that he asks everyday in order to maintain and stimulate his optimal hormonal excitement. Haha. It's like maintaining erection by all day long watching porn. *Hahaha...!!

But sometimes, whenever he's taking a day off, his absence at work retards everyone's energy in moving forward. The tempo of working is slackening. On the better side of thing, a boss like him is a real daily motivator to scare off all the potential slackers.

Coincidence

I found this funny!

Year 1981
1.Prince Charles got married
2.Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3.Pope Died.

Year 2005
1.Prince Charles got married (again)
2.Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe (again)
3.Pope Died.

In the future, if Prince Charles decides to re-marry or Liverpool needs another European crown...please warn the Pope!

Hazy Days - Part II

It's said polluted air that we're breathing in is equal to smoking 5 cig's if you walk half a kilometre route.

The uncivilized morons in Sumatra are not giving up setting fires to clear crops in their farm lands while the moronic government of both countries along the Strait of Malacca are too dumb to come out with a solution to extinguish the fires.

The so-called 'Hot Spots' in Sumatra have created a massive dust haze shadowing the whole Klang Valley, cutting out sunlight, and 'drastically' changing our ecosystem!! Sound familar? Yes, it did happen 65 million years ago.

A friend of mine said something funny, 'Look at the dust! You can't even see the damned sun! Do you know how the hell dinosaurs went extinct? This is how...'

Yeah, this is how..

(These pics were taken at 1pm under the sun)

Damn, are we going to be extinct? :P

Hazy Days - Part I

Two days ago I received email from HR Safety and Health department. It was a Haze Action Plan from National Environment Agency, Singapore, regarding the levels of API, following by the emergency plans and actions that should be taken according to the API.

API levels of 201 to 300 were said to be 'very unhealthy', and 301 to 500 'hazardous'.

I read through but i don't see any current API stated. So I asked the HR guy about the most recent status. He replied me with the latest announcement of API released by DOE (Department of Environment) - BELOW 100...!!

I couldn't believe what I read! The visibility was down to 200m to 300m and choking smell was everywhere but the government said API was below 100?? And I looked around, the haze had even pervaded inside the factory and air-conditioned office. I checked the list of levels stated on the email again, it said:

Index Value - '100'
Descriptor - 'MODERATE'
General Health Effects - 'Few or none for the general population'
Cautionary Statements - 'NONE REQUIRED'

Damn the liars. Damn the government...!!

The Hunt of Polar Bear

Do you know how Eskimos hunt polar bear? First of all, they kill a seal and spill the blood of seal into a bucket. Then they place a dagger into it, leaving the blood coagulated when it meets cold air. When it's done, an icy blood clot that looks like a red candy with a sharp dagger inside is placed on the snowfield.

Polar bear loves blood. He can smell blood miles away. Soon he found the red candy. He starts licking it excitedly like licking off an ice-cream. While he's enjoying himself in the excitement, the dagger cuts through his tongue and fresh fluid is shedding into his throat. He wonders why the blood is getting warmer and sweeter. Compound that with the seal's blood clot, he confuses both kind of bloods. Yet both tasted good!

In fact, he's getting weaker and weaker because of massive blood loss. Then the Eskimos come and take this feeble polar bear back to their igloos, ready to serve themselves a delightful dinner.

Moral of the story:

When you think you're getting ahead in life, having everything you want and enjoying what you have at this moment, would you stop for a second to think and see what's really going on around you? Are you sure you've made the right choice to stay at the current stage while you can actually leave everything behind to get yourself into a more advantageous position?

Life is never easy. Don't just say 'fuck it' and let everything stay at where it seems okay to be staying. You might be sucking your own blood off now like the polar bear.

P/S: I translated this polar bear story from an article on the net. But I made up the moral of the story. Ha.. Philosophic enough? hehe

I miss star-spangled banner

I miss those days when my roommates and I woke up early in the winter morning, having our cereal breakfast while all staring at the freezing white thick snow outside the window. 15 minutes later we went back to sleep and skipped the class at 8:00am.

I miss those days when everyone started learning cooking and brought a dish or two to a potluck gathering at a friend's house. Frankly, some food were terribly tasted good.

I miss those days when we were studying, eating and sleeping in the library like our home until we saw the light of dawn. We were hardworking students who had such an unlikely balance of alcohol and books.

I miss those days when crazy alcohol parties got us all high and drunk and then puked everywhere. Police knocked on our door in the middle of the night, warning us to stop the crazy noise with the this: 'if the third time we're here, y'all would be in jail.'

I miss those days when we travelled from state to state by rental car, driving in 80-90 mph at night. The rental agent was surprised when we returned the car with an unbelivably 3500 miles of millage in 10 days.

I miss those days when it was so hot and we had been hermit for the whole summer at home during daytime that lasted until 9pm. Then we got nothing better to do than having gambling session all nite.

I miss the anthem '...O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave. O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.'

I miss Kentucky, the state that comes with the nick 'Blue Grass', alluding to the blue-grass region where the finest racing horses are bred and Ahem...and the greatest students are educated.

I miss everything in a town called Lexington.

Note: Lexington - the "Horse Capital of the World," located in the heart of the Bluegrass. It is the second largest city in Kentucky state.

Terror tears the peace apart

London's deadly terrorist bombings that tore through the transport system reminds me of 911 terrorist attack. I was in the states.

Subway trains booming in London

I remember that day. A call from a friend in Australia woke me up at 9:30am in the morning. I was told to turn on the TV and I did. Then I saw two 767 airplanes crashing into the Two Towers. I thought it was a movie on HBO, but CNN showed the horrible scene of people jumping out of the smoky towers. An hour later, my heart crashed as well when two of the towers crumbled to ground. I was staring at the TV for the whole day.

New York September 11

The dark cloud of terror is now covering London..

Everytime we hope not to let it happen again. But when the memories of past tragedy slowly fade away, then it happens all over. We'll never have peace in this bloody world...

My deepest condolences go to people who lost their beloved ones.

Chicken Job

I've got a job offer, but I was given two weeks to think about it.
Imagine a job that contains the following:
  1. 80% of traveling in 365 days (pls read more about it...)

  2. You would never know where you gonna be next week.

  3. You would never know when you gonna leave.

  4. You don't have to unpack your luggage at home because you would be flying in 2-4 days again.

  5. 4 days minimum/ 2 weeks maximum in a chicken farm, somewhere around in Asia Pacific (well, the farthest is Pakistan, the nearest, say, Jakarta)

  6. Your job is to fix an egg grading and packing machine that costs a few million bucks.

  7. Just put chicken smell out of the list.

  8. NOT A HIGH PAY JOB.
It's the world's largest egg grading and packing machine producer. A Holland company. I was told again and again by the interviewer: 'Travelling is an issue in our company. You must think about it carefully.'

It's crazy to travel more frequent than an air-stewardess. Lena told me they know where they would be in the following month when they receive the duty roster. Unlike this job, when there's a million-dollar machine breaks down you have to travel all the way to fix it at any time.

So i think about it. Carefully (as i was told to). Then I rejected it.

The World United Against Terrorism

This MTV advertisement was banned by US government. However, it was aired ONCE...

Text next to the towers: "2,863 people died"
Text next to the guy: "40 milllion of HIV infected in the world."
"The world united against terrorism. It should also be united against AIDS"

Next to the towers: "2,863 people died"
Next to the kid: "824 million people starving in the world".
"The world united against terrorism. It should also be united against HUNGER."

Next to the towers: "2,863 people died"
Next to the old man: "630 million of homeless people in the world".
"The world united against terrorism. It should also be united against POVERTY".

Solidarity is needed.
-- Help, donate, sponsor --
This advertisement was forbidden, but not everything can be hidden.
Thank you! ~~MTV

I got this forward mail from Jean this morning. A miserable feeling was sent through the net as well. Sometimes, our mind becomes so blind when we care too much about the dead and become so numb with the living.

New Layout

Finally, I've changed the background. Took me a little while to re-design the new layout. Pheww~~ Hey, Johny, I stole your code! Haha. Anyway, I've changed the gray sky of the original photo with a brighter, sunnier cloud. Yes it's still cloudy, but Malaysia's sky is never blue and clean.

Like it? Does it reflect something in your mind about KL life?

Random Blog

I've been reading some blogs randomly through the net. I tend to crave for more fun entries to read, so that somehow I could find myself a little inspiration to write something. But damn, I found that a blog with lotsa abbreviations, tons of unidentified emotion symbols, mixing up with unknown Malay words is really hard to read (i'm referring this to Malaysian blogs). Unlike reading an article, it's more like reading a conversation in between two MSN users in a private chatroom.

Frankly, now I totally agree that a blog is place where you can bitch about your daily life which nobody is interested in. Some people just have nothing better to do but write some shitty and dull things on the web. Somehow, a brilliant thought or an intelligent idea that brightens up both the reader and the blogger's mind is considered rare.

I even found the following entry funny:
'OH look, 8 persons actually commented on my previous entry.'

What the...

Temptation of mamak food

Nes-Lo Ice Kosong is my favorite drink in mamak. It's a mixture of Nescafe and Milo.
I was telling this to my friends in mamak last nite:
'Do you know there's a new drink in mamak? It's a combination of Horlick, Milo, Kopi and Teh...'
'What's that called?' the curious one asked.
'They named it 'Lick-Mi-Ko-teh' I said.
Got it? You're not laughing. C'mon, it's a joke~!

To digress a little, I got an advice for the fat-ass who's sitting right in front of this com screen, writing this blog:
~ Stop succumbing to the temptation of mamak food. Sigh. You're getting fatter.

Damn.

Interviewed

How did it go? Yeah, the interview. Well, basically, they'll pay more than that of my basic salary. Technically, they want someone with strong technical background. Urgently, they want someone with high sense of urgency. Frankly, i think they want someone named Frank, that's not me...

I'm truly interested in the job but I think my technical background as a production engineer isn't strong enough to make the interviewer believe that I'm better than other candidates who have experiences in machine repairing. I've tried my best. Well, still stand a chance. Now it depends on how good other candidates are.

An Interview

Last Friday evening, I received a phone call from GE (General Electric), telling me that I'm shortlisted for a job interview on Monday. Whoa..! I've been long waiting for a reply from this company that I admire.

I browsed thru the Internet for more information of this company. And here's a summary of what I've found:

1) In 1876, Thomas Edison opened a new laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Out of the laboratory was to come perhaps the most famous invention of all — a successful development of the incandescent electric lamp. By 1890, Edison had organized his various businesses into the Edison General Electric Company.

2) In 1987, GE was the United States' second largest nuclear power company and third largest producer of nuclear weapons systems.

3) In 2004, GE bought from Vivendi Universal the television and movie assets and became the third largest media conglomerate in the world.

4) Going into 2005, it was the world's largest corporation in terms of market capitalization. The company's market cap is almost $100 billion higher than that of Microsoft. As of March 28, 2005, GE had a market cap of approximately US$379 billion, leading Exxon-Mobil by $2 billion.

6) In 2004 GE was named number one company for employers and employees on the Forbes 500 Global Player list.

7) GE participates in a wide variety of markets including the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, lighting, industrial automation, medical imaging equipment, motors, railway locomotives, aircraft jet engines, aviation services and materials such as plastics, silicones and abrasives.

8) It was co-founder and is 80% owner (with Vivendi Universal) of NBC Universal, the National Broadcasting Company.

9) As GE Commercial Finance, GE Consumer Finance, GE Equipment Services, and GE Insurance it offers a range of financial services as well. It has a presence in over 100 countries.

10) It is one of the largest lenders in countries other than the United States, such as Japan.

Pheww...!! This is a company I admire at all time.

The Bat in the Dark

Ever since the last big screen Batman and Robin showing in theatre a decade ago (1996?), Batman Begins is a long-waiting movie for all the bat-fans. I'm not a fan. Just interested in knowing who will be wearing the batsuit, and of coz, all those fancy Bat-weapons that help the Bat-guy to against the bad guys..

I'd still prefer Michael Keaton who played the role as Batman. Amongst George Clooney, Val Kilmer and others, I think he is the perfect Batman ever and there's no better match. His arched eyebrows are so cool and remarkable. Haha.

Here's Batman Begins, with Christian Bale playing the role of Bruce Wayne - Batman.

P/S: I like the new bat symbol

To Be Relocated?

Had a drink with Nic at the mamak the other nite. Were talking about the boredom that might occur if we happened to work in Penang. We both presumed that we would have a dull life over there because the island is a strange world for non-local like us. I just have so many friends and things-to-do here that make my days. I'm not saying I can't start with a new life in a whole new environment. I did that before. Alienating myself from the accustomed people and places might make me a loner. The main reason is, if given a choice to choose a place to work, I would rather work in a place that i'm familar with. If you know what I mean. It makes no difference in your career path but your personal life would be distant from what you expect. With all these bloody excuses, maybe I'm not ready to give up happening life in KL. Maybe it's just me who's playing trick with myself.

However, it didn't perish the thought of giving it a try. I've turned in a resume to a friend of mine who is working in Penang. Well, as a KL local, he did mention things like 'no life in Penang', 'no kaki to hang out with' to me when I asked him about life over there. The job is well-paid and he told me it's all about money. He said it actually made no difference because we're still working in this pathetic country. BUT, if given an opportunity to work in the states or any other foreign country, I would go for it without second thought. I need a refreshing place.

Afterall, life isn't just about money. Balancing both working and social life is such a thing to learn.

New Words for 2005

*I actually do the first one at work and the last one at home*

BLAMESTORMING - Sitting around in a group, discussing why a deadline was missed or a project failed, and who was responsible.

SEAGULL MANAGER - A manager who flies in, makes a lot of noise, craps on everything, and then leaves.

ASSMOSIS - The process by which people seem to absorb success and advancement by sucking up to the boss rather than working hard.

SALMON DAY - The experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed and die.

CUBE FARM - An office filled with cubicles.

PRAIRIE DOGGING - When someone yells or drops something loudly in a cube farm, and people's heads pop up over the walls to see that's going on. (This also applies to applause from a promotion because there may be cake.)

MOUSE POTATO - The on-line, wired generation's answer to the couch potato.

SITCOMs - Single Income, Two Children, Oppressive Mortgage. What yuppies turn into when they have children and one of them stops working to stay home with the kids or start a "home business".

STRESS PUPPY - A person who seems to thrive on being stressed out and whiny.

PERCUSSIVE MAINTENANCE - The fine art of whacking the cr*p out of an electronic device to get it to work again.

ADMINISPHERE - The rarefied organisational layers beginning just above the rank and file. Decisions that fall from the "adminisphere" are often profoundly inappropriate or irrelevant to the problems they were designed to solve. This is often affiliated with the dreaded "administrivia" needless paperwork and processes.

404 - Someone who's clueless. From the World Wide Web error message "404 Not Found," meaning that the requested document could not be located.

OHNOSECOND - That minuscule fraction of time in which you realise that you've just made a BIG mistake (e.g. you've hit 'reply all')

MILLENNIUM DOMES - The contents of a Wonderbra, i.e. extremely impressive when viewed from the outside, but there's actually nought in there worth seeing.

MONKEY BATH - A bath so hot, that when lowering yourself in, you go: "Oo! Oo! Ho! Aa! Aa! Aa!".

Lack of something..

Damn, I gotta admit that I'm a poor blogger. Ideas are lacking for me to write. Even Johny started blogging later than me writes more than I do. It really makes me envy when everyone can get online during office hours while I'm seperated from the boundary of Internet at work. At night, it's tiring to power up my brain to think and blog. Iceberg

Iceberg: A massive floating body of ice broken away from a glacier. Only about 10% of its mass is above the surface of the water.

Philosophically woman is like an iceberg. Guy is like a sailor and all he can see is the part that is floating on the surface. When he thinks he's seeing the other 90% of the iceberg underneath the water, he's already trapped in a sunken boat, slowly sinking to the bottom.

Moby - Hotel

New York electronica artist Moby has released his new album HOTEL. If you have heard of some of his previous songs like 'Porcelain', 'South Side', here's another album for you to fill yourself up with a mixture feeling of chillout and bizarreness. His music is always a blend of new age, blues, soul, hip-hop, techno, and electronica. Some found it bizarre and weird, but I think it's not a bad choice sometimes to ease your mind.

My first exposure to Moby was the song 'Porcelain', it was one of my favorites. Then I found another nice one in his version of James Bond theme to the movie 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. You can find most of his music in various movie soundtracks as well as car commercial, well.. i never know any of its appearance on TV though. This is overall a not-too-bad album. Oh yah, two CDs inside.

So introduce to you, Moby - Hotel

Cat's Return

Catherine finally came back from the states for a 3-week vacation since I last saw her 3 years ago when she sent me off in Kentucky airport. I was so happy to see her again~! Rapid-fire words coming out from her mouth the moment she saw us in the arrival hall. She was too excited!!

Cat has already told me weeks ago to organize a clubbing session on the night of her arrival. Duh..This party queen claimed that she hasn't danced for nearly 5 years. It's time to get back on track and get the ass shaked. So we had a little welcome home gathering at Poppy's Garden for her return ::

Cafe del Mar anyone?

I was surprised when Fanny asked me about the full collection of Cafe del Mar on MSN messenger. I thought I'd told her somehow when we were chatting earlier on. Then Johny said the same thing to me too, 'Full collection of Cafe del Mar huh..?' Amazed, I asked who told him that. Okay, then I found out I did. It was me. I didn't realize I wrote that in the previous blog. Damn.

Anyway, check it out!

Hehe.. but johny, the total file size is 1.8GB and I don't have a DVD burner. Sigh. I think I'm gonna get one. But not now.

I also have tons of ambient, lounge, chillout, house music..etc. But they're in a mess, I got no time to sort them and burn them.

I stole music

Cheryl was looking all over her place to find her collection of Cafe Del Mar CDs for me...but only a few of them were found. So she just got me 3 out of 11 volumes.

A week later, I started to download tons of large file sized videos and music right after I got my 120 Gigabyte hard disk. I started to search for Cafe Del Mar and I found all of them on the Internet!! Been looking for the full collection for years and now it only takes 6 hours and all 11 albums of the collection are downloaded into my computer. This is way too easy. All of sudden I felt myself like a thief, and I could feel the anger of the musicians who created these music because I didn't pay a cent. But, I just need these music to soothe my spirits abit and hardly I could find them all in any CD shop (I know this is a lame excuse)

Hope these brilliant musicians wouldn't blame me for finding peace in such a way.

IDONTOGO UNIVERSITY

There are many cars in KL with a car stick of the university where the driver has completed his/her study from. Like 'University of Malaya', 'University Kebangsaan Malaysia', etc

I saw this weird bumper sticker on a Kancil this morning when I was on my way to work.

It wrote: IDONTOGO UNIVERSITY

I was confused. Was it a university in Japan? It sounded like a Japanese name. When our cars stopped in front of a traffic light, I just realized it said,

'I Don't Go University'

Haha.. (Do you get it?)

When you plant lettuce..

"When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce.

Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and argument. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change."

Have you ever wondered?

01. If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?

02. Do Lipton Tea employees take coffee breaks?

03. If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?

04. If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes?

05. Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery? OOpps...

06. Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

07. If horrific means to make horrible, does terrific mean to make terrible?

08. Why is it called building when it is already built?

09. If a book about failures doesn't sell, is it a success?

10. If you're not supposed to drink and drive, then why do bars have parking lots?

11. If you take an Oriental person and spin him around several times, does he become disoriented?

12. If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?

Unexpected surprise

Vicky, Me, Alan, Shaun, Cheryl
After 15 years of searching for Alan's contact, we couldn't believe we found him in the Loft just the night before gathering. Cheryl was shouting loudly, Vicky was stunned, me and Shaun were speechless for at least 1 min (with our unbelievable eyes wide open) This is truly amazing!! A friend whom we have lost contact with for 15 years just popping out from nowhere, standing right in front of us when we tried so hard to find him all these years..

Life is full of unexpected surprise!

I got backstabbed

Life is too short to get frustrated over the silliest gossip ppl created for you, esp. when you know you can't do anything about it.

Why stress yourself out with this unexpected disappointment?

I'm telling myself to stay cool~

15 Years After

15 years later, we finally have a chance to meet.

Me, Vicky, Shaun & Shiao Yun. We were primary schoolmates from Puay Chai (class of 1990)

'It feels like seeing your first love u know..' Vicky told me this when we were about to meet Shiao Yun, 'It's so excited and long-waiting. Indeed, it's just a friend we haven't seen for 15 years.'

First we heard a familar voice, then the next thing happened was truly surprising -- we saw a strange grown-up but there was a little girl at age of 12 flashing over our minds at the same time. Totally confusing. It was like the first time I met Vicky a month ago. When we were brought back to time, we realized Shiao Yun was standing in front of us, saying hi. She's back from UK with a civil engineering PhD degree. Whoa~!

We had lotsa catch-up. Old memories came back to us instantly. This little gathering has given us a bigger mission: Get the whole class back in contact. At least trying to find all the little boys & little girls in the old &antique pictures.

It has been 15 years...!!

On the Top of Nowhere

Nic and I were walking in the lobby of Pan Global Bldg, trying to find the elevator to go up to 34th floor. But we found only an elevator to 22nd.. It's weird but we still got in. I called Fanny and she said, 'it's on the top floor!'

At 22nd floor, it was spooky cause nobody was there. We tried to find another elevator that could reach 34th floor, but all we could see was a 'Lift Bomba'... Then out of sudden we saw some people walking toward a doorway. We followed. There was a staircase at the end of the doorway.

We walked up and took another elevator to 34th floor. The spooky feeling was gone. All we could see was a big swimming pool in the middle of an open air roof-top. It was surrounded by crowd and a bar, with lounge music playing around the corners.

Nic and I walked along the poolside and we found Fanny, Amanda and gang. Then when you look up, you could see a big apple tree KL tower above the top. It was magnificent.

This place is called Luna.

Late Greeting for 2005

A late greeting of Christmas and New Year 05' to y'all. I know i'm sorta late.. Just hope everyone had a great time. And we're looking forward to the year of 2005.

What's my new year's resolution? i think just make it simple: A new beginning going with a new hope and a new life; that is, everything is gonna be fresh and new for another 365 days. But I think nothing much has been changed since the 2004 turning into 2005 (time will tell)
