To Be Relocated?

Had a drink with Nic at the mamak the other nite. Were talking about the boredom that might occur if we happened to work in Penang. We both presumed that we would have a dull life over there because the island is a strange world for non-local like us. I just have so many friends and things-to-do here that make my days. I'm not saying I can't start with a new life in a whole new environment. I did that before. Alienating myself from the accustomed people and places might make me a loner. The main reason is, if given a choice to choose a place to work, I would rather work in a place that i'm familar with. If you know what I mean. It makes no difference in your career path but your personal life would be distant from what you expect. With all these bloody excuses, maybe I'm not ready to give up happening life in KL. Maybe it's just me who's playing trick with myself.

However, it didn't perish the thought of giving it a try. I've turned in a resume to a friend of mine who is working in Penang. Well, as a KL local, he did mention things like 'no life in Penang', 'no kaki to hang out with' to me when I asked him about life over there. The job is well-paid and he told me it's all about money. He said it actually made no difference because we're still working in this pathetic country. BUT, if given an opportunity to work in the states or any other foreign country, I would go for it without second thought. I need a refreshing place.

Afterall, life isn't just about money. Balancing both working and social life is such a thing to learn.

i think money plays a big role in our lives... sad to say many things are controlled by money. And the saying money cant buy happiness is somewhat not so true...

i was placed in the same dilemma as you before, given a choice to work in either penang or kulim with better pay and incentives, or to work in glamorous KL with peanut salary. It's so hard to choose but I really think life is not just about money but comprises of many other elements as well. Afterall that's the reason why I came back to Msia for good, therefore I'll be trying my luck in KL at least for a while.
