Yes. Pluto was gone after the voting of International Astronomical Union (IAU). Well, Pluto's membership as a planet should have been removed long time ago because of its eccentric orbit that sometimes crosses over to Neptune. So now it's called a "dwarf planet". It's somewhat like a 'handicapped' planet that never had a proper 'growth' like other planets. Together with Pluto, there are another planet 2003UB and a piece of big rock named Ceres, also become the dwarf planets.
All the science books should have problem now in changing the 9 planets of solar system to 8. Beside that, don't forget about the 3 dwarfs!
