More than meets the eye...

Here's a few things of The Transformers movie that you might or might not know about:

1. Why is Megatron a spaceship instead of a pistol or a gun? This is the answer from the writer: 'It's like Darth Vader of Star Wars turning into his own lightsaber and having someone else swing him around.' It wouldn't be cool after all.
2. Why a truck with the front part tilts forward instead of flat front part is chosen for Optimus Prime? It is because the actual size of a truck with front part tilts forward would only be 20 ~25 feet tall after transformation... so they need to have the largest truck to make the leader of Aubobots look gigantic.
3. Optimus Prime's voice played by Peter Cullen is the voice from the original cartoon.
4. Instead of a Volk-Wagen Beetle, Bumblebee is a Chevrolet Camaro. Not only is the GM owned vehicle lines selected, the writers don't want the audience to compare Bumblebee with the Beetle from the animation movie Herbie the Love Bug.
5. The Autobots did not travel to Earth by Ark. They don't need any transportation to fit themselves in because they're already a transportation.
6. During post-production, fans expressed concern over Megatron's head design, so a last-minute tweak was done to satisfy them.
7. Michael Bay, who had wanted to make a family film, was asked to direct, but he thought of it as a "stupid toy movie" in the first place.
8. Inspired by Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Bumblebee was kept mute to stress his friendship with Sam as going beyond words.

Rumors for the possible sequel of Transformers:

1. Jazz who died in the movie will be rebuilt as a tougher frame. Maintaining the movie look, but with a different color scheme and slight modifications.
2. Soundwave is intended to be a new major character, with his presence allowing a proper introduction of mass-shifting. He was supposed to be playing the role of spy in the movie but the movie crew hasn't figured out how to transform him in a nicer way (Frenzy in the movie is just a Soundwave's minion)
3. They also have a very cool idea on how to introduce the Dinobots and Constructicons, not to mention the transformation of an aircraft carrier character.
4. There are 3 possible survivals of the Decepticons in the movie: Starscream (he runs away after attacking the jet fighters), Scorponok (the mechanized scorpion in the desert. He digs down the sand after the tip of his tail blown off), and Barricade (the police car that was thrown into a freeway support pillar by Optimus Prime).

The Spies of Decepticons
